Christmas Tree Delivery Questions

Everything people ask us about ordering, the trees, delivery day, keeping a tree fresh and January pickup.

Ordering and price

How much does Christmas tree delivery cost?

A 6 ft tree is $465 and an 8 ft tree is $589, and the price is the same for a Noble Fir or a Fraser Fir. That covers the tree, a loaned stand, delivery, setup inside your home and January pickup. Tax is extra. Trees taller than 8 ft are a special order with a custom quote.

Is there a delivery fee or a charge per mile?

No. Delivery is part of the price, and the price is set by the size of the tree, not by how far we drive on our route. The one exception is unusual access, like a very long carry or a tall tree going up a tight staircase. If that applies to your home, we tell you before you pay.

How do I order a tree?

Go to the order page, choose Noble Fir or Fraser Fir, choose 6 ft or 8 ft, and pick the date you want it delivered. Add your address and any notes about gates, stairs or where the tree should go. We confirm your date and your total before you pay.

When should I order my tree?

Order as early as you can. Demand for delivered trees in Orange County runs heaviest from mid November to about December 20, and the weekend after Thanksgiving (November 28 and 29 this year) is a popular time to get the tree up. Ordering early gives you the widest choice of delivery dates.

Can I get a tree taller than 8 feet?

Yes, as a special order. Trees 9 ft and up depend on what is available and on getting the tree into your home, so we quote them one at a time. Choose "9 ft and up" on the order form and tell us your ceiling height and the room it is going in.

The trees

Should I get a Noble Fir or a Fraser Fir?

Get a Fraser Fir for the classic Christmas tree shape and a strong, fresh smell. Get a Noble Fir for stiff, layered branches that hold heavy ornaments and a silvery blue green color. Both hold their needles well when they are watered. Our Noble Fir vs Fraser Fir guide goes deeper.

What size Christmas tree do I need?

Leave about a foot between the top of the tree and your ceiling for the stand and a topper. That makes the 6 ft tree right for 8 ft ceilings and the 8 ft tree right for 10 ft ceilings. With 9 ft ceilings either one works. Try the ceiling size tool to see it.

Are your trees real? Do you deliver live or potted trees?

Our trees are real, fresh cut Noble Firs and Fraser Firs. We do not deliver potted living trees or artificial trees. A cut tree standing in water stays fresh through the holidays as long as the stand never runs dry.

Delivery and setup

What happens on delivery day?

Our crew, usually two people, brings the tree to your door and carries it to the spot you pick. We set it in a sturdy stand, get it standing straight, check it over and sweep up the needles from setup. Then it is ready for your lights and ornaments. More on Christmas tree setup.

Do I need to be home for delivery?

Yes. Someone needs to let us in and show us where the tree goes, since we set it up inside. If a sitter, housekeeper or neighbor will be there instead, put their name in your order notes.

Will you carry the tree upstairs?

Yes, we carry it to the room where you want it, upstairs included. Mention stairs, tight turns or a long walk from the street in your order notes. For a very tall tree or a hard carry, we look at it first and tell you about any extra charge before you pay.

I live behind a guard gate. What should I do?

Add TreeDrop to your guest list for your delivery date and again for your January pickup. Put any gate instructions or codes in your order notes so the crew has them on the day.

Do you decorate the tree or bring lights?

No. We deliver it, set it up and come back for it in January. The lights, the ornaments and the fun of decorating are all yours. That is the whole idea: you create the memories, we handle the heavy lifting.

Caring for your tree

Do I need to water the tree?

Yes, every day, and that part is on you. A fresh tree drinks a lot in its first days, so check the stand each morning and keep the water above the bottom of the trunk. Warm, dry December days and Santa Ana winds dry trees out faster here. See how to keep your tree fresh.

Where should the tree go in my house?

Keep it at least 3 feet from fireplaces, heaters, heat vents and lamps, which is the distance fire safety groups recommend. Pick a spot near an outlet for the lights and out of the main walkway. Tell our crew where you want it and we will set it there.

January pickup

How does January pickup work?

During our January pickup window we come back, carry the tree out, take our stand back and handle disposal, with the tree going to green waste recycling where that is accepted. You do not drag it to the curb or cut it up to fit a bin. More on the pickup page.

Do I have to take the decorations off before pickup?

Yes, please take everything off: lights, ornaments, hooks, tinsel, garland and the tree skirt. Green waste recycling cannot take decorations, and we cannot sort through them for you. A bare tree makes for a quick pickup.

Can you pick up a tree I bought somewhere else?

January pickup comes with every TreeDrop tree. If yours came from somewhere else, send us a note and ask. Most Orange County cities also collect trees curbside in early January, so check your city or trash hauler for dates and rules.

Where we deliver

Where do you deliver Christmas trees?

We deliver across coastal and South Orange County, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Tustin and the North OC hills. That includes Newport Beach, Corona del Mar, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, San Clemente, Huntington Beach, Mission Viejo, Coto de Caza, Ladera Ranch, Yorba Linda, Anaheim Hills and Villa Park. See the delivery map or check your ZIP.

Do you deliver outside those areas?

Not this season. The route is set for 2026. If you are right on the edge of the map, ask us anyway and we will give you a straight answer.
