On delivery day
What our Christmas tree setup includes
Usually two of us come out. It is a two person job to get a fresh tree through a doorway and into a stand without scraping a wall.
- 1

Carried in
Through the front door, down the hall, up the stairs. We take it to the room where it will stand.
- 2

Set in a sturdy stand
A water holding stand we lend you for the season and take back in January.
- 3

Straightened
We stand back, look from a couple of angles and adjust until it stands tall.
- 4

Checked
Steady in the stand, with the reservoir easy to reach so daily watering is simple.
- 5

Cleaned up
Netting, loose needles and setup bits leave with us.
- 6

Ready for you
Bare, straight and steady. Lights and ornaments are the fun part, so they stay yours.
Before we arrive
Picking the right spot for your tree
Decide on the spot before delivery day and clear it, along with a path from the front door. A few minutes of planning saves moving a wet stand later.
- Keep the tree at least 3 feet from fireplaces, heaters, heat vents and lamps. That is the distance the National Fire Protection Association recommends.
- Skip the spot in front of a sunny window. Southern California afternoon sun warms a room and dries a tree faster.
- Stay near an outlet so light cords do not cross a walkway.
- Leave room to reach the stand. You will be watering it every day.
- Got wood floors or a rug you love? Put down a waterproof mat or tray before we come.
Measure first
Ceiling height at the spot, minus about a foot.
That is the tallest tree that fits with a stand and a topper.
- 8 ft ceiling: 6 ft tree, $465
- 9 ft ceiling: either size
- 10 ft ceiling: 8 ft tree, $589
- Higher: ask about a special order
Stairs, gates and tall rooms
Christmas tree installation for tricky spaces
Orange County homes come with their own puzzles: hillside stairs in Laguna, guard gates in Coto de Caza and Newport Coast, two story great rooms in Irvine and Ladera Ranch, tight alley access on Balboa Island. None of that is unusual for us, but we need to know about it ahead of time.
When you order, use the notes box to tell us about stairs, narrow doorways, a long walk from the street, gate instructions and the room the tree is going in. If a very tall tree or a hard carry needs more than a normal setup, we tell you about any extra charge before you pay.
Guard gates
Add TreeDrop to your guest list for delivery day and pickup.
Stairs
Note how many flights and any tight turns.
Tall rooms
Trees 9 ft and up are a special order.
Parking
Tell us where a truck can stop if the street is tight.
Check the stand every morning.
A fresh tree drinks the most in its first days. If the water drops below the trunk, the cut can seal over and the tree stops drinking, so keep it topped up from day one.
After we leave
Keeping your tree fresh is your part
We set the tree up, but daily watering and care are on you. Warm December afternoons and Santa Ana wind days dry trees out faster here than in colder parts of the country.
Turn tree lights off when you go to bed or leave the house, and keep the room from getting too warm. Our guide on keeping a Christmas tree fresh in Southern California has the details.
Questions
Christmas tree setup questions
What happens on delivery day?
Our crew, usually two people, brings the tree to your door and carries it to the spot you pick. We set it in a sturdy stand, get it standing straight, check it over and sweep up the needles from setup. Then it is ready for your lights and ornaments. More on Christmas tree setup.
Do I need to be home for delivery?
Yes. Someone needs to let us in and show us where the tree goes, since we set it up inside. If a sitter, housekeeper or neighbor will be there instead, put their name in your order notes.
Will you carry the tree upstairs?
Yes, we carry it to the room where you want it, upstairs included. Mention stairs, tight turns or a long walk from the street in your order notes. For a very tall tree or a hard carry, we look at it first and tell you about any extra charge before you pay.
Do you decorate the tree or bring lights?
No. We deliver it, set it up and come back for it in January. The lights, the ornaments and the fun of decorating are all yours. That is the whole idea: you create the memories, we handle the heavy lifting.
Do I need to water the tree?
Yes, every day, and that part is on you. A fresh tree drinks a lot in its first days, so check the stand each morning and keep the water above the bottom of the trunk. Warm, dry December days and Santa Ana winds dry trees out faster here. See how to keep your tree fresh.
Where should the tree go in my house?
Keep it at least 3 feet from fireplaces, heaters, heat vents and lamps, which is the distance fire safety groups recommend. Pick a spot near an outlet for the lights and out of the main walkway. Tell our crew where you want it and we will set it there.

Straight, steady and ready for lights.
Two trees, two sizes, one price that covers delivery, setup and January pickup. Pick your date and we take it from there.
